I’ve been on a mission to bring to conclusion a lot of my waiting art pieces. From those pieces I had accumulated a number of castoffs. I knew those odd pieces would one day be used to create a new art quilt. Lucky for them today was the day.
The photo below is of a grouping of leftover scraps.

These scraps were the main building blocks for Art Quilt #15. Using those scraps along with strips and pieces of other fabrics I created a new art piece called Hodgepodge. Hodgepodge seemed like an appropriate description for this strange gathering of fabrics.

My Hodgepodge art piece measures 32″ x 23 1/4″.
Thanks for stopping by!

Yes! Very colorful and lovely!
Thanks Tierney!!!!
Loving the hodge podge. So what is the plan with these guys. Do you sell them or give them away. Are you stocking up gifts or increasing inventory to sell. Just curious as to what everyone does with their art. I’m about ready to build another canvas storage area for my overflow and I am not looking forward to it. I mean, I like to work with wood and it is not that hard, but man, I can’t paint in strange positions like I used to and having to lean over something to stain or paint just kills my back.
Well ultimately it would be nice to sell some of them. Not sure where I would do it.
Have u had any luck selling your art?
It is hard. Not good luck. Well maybe some luck, but mostly hard work. You gotta market yourself apparently. So I am working on that. Turns out you gotta get yourself out there vs just plopping things on line and hoping they will come. Bummer. I would prefer to plop things on line. I have an etsy shop in it’s first year and not a lot going on over there, but I hope with time and I will start doing art shows and things if that is what is meant to be. Slowly but surely. I have someone helping me with things like artist statements and portfolios and finding art shows or interior decorators ( which it what I am really interested in for my art) that kind of thing and I hope with time things will open up to me.
Sounds like a plan. How did the art show go?
Giggle. Let’s see how that plan pans out! The art show…It was good. I didn’t place at the show but I did sell a painting and a few painted glasses at the festival itself. I can’t find my pictures of my tent set up!!! I know I took some..I thought I did. I was doing so many things at once! I have a few really bad pictures of the show itself. My art was hanging on a wall that was in direct sunlight, so they came out really bad also. I’m sad about that. I wanted the memory.
Awe! I’m sorry about the location. You work so hard to get ready and have high hopes.
I was in a craft fair once. Sad hearing the people ask if you would take less for your craft. Kind of insulting too.
I will be wiser next time…hopefully!!!
Hang in there!
I am sure tryin’
Yes, ver insulting. I felt like telling one lady sure…can you come work in my yard for 10 hours to make up the difference? I didn’t though.
Awe!!!! The nerve!!!!!!!
