Mystery Quilt Along Fabric Reveal

On November 16, 2017 Tracy at It’s A T-Sweets day and I announced a brand new Mystery Quilt Along. Details of the event can be found at the bottom of this post. In our post we indicated that the mystery fabric would be revealed early in December. Well, today is the day!

I am the lucky person to choose the fabric for this Quilt Along. Tracy will have the opportunity next time. For our first Mystery Quilt Along you must include the following fabric

Biscuits & Gravy Fluffer Nutter You Be You by BasicGrey for Moda Fabrics

Fluffer Nutter You Be You
Fluffer Nutter You Be You

I chose the fabric mostly because Fluffer Nutter makes me giggle every time I say it. 🙂 I also chose it because this Quilt Along, other than dictating your main fabric, gives you the chance to be creative. It allows You ‘to’ Be You.

There are no rules on what to make. You can make a pillow, place mat, table runner, lap quilt, bed quilt, mug rug, wall hanging or simply just a quilt square. The sky is the limit.

The Quilt Along begins January 1, 2018. Are you in? If so, leave a comment here or on Tracy’s blog. Unless you indicate otherwise we will add your name to our list of participants. This will give others the opportunity to watch your progress. 🙂 Remember you may also post photos to Instagram using this hashtag #mystery_qal.

We hope that you are as excited as we are to participate. 🙂 Share your enthusiasm by spreading the word to your family and friends as well as your readers. Let’s see how many people we can get involved.

There is one very important thing we almost forgot to mention, one lucky person will receive a prize. The name will be selected randomly. That lucky winner will receive one yard of fabric for our second Mystery Quilt Along FREE! Now isn’t that special! 🙂

Any questions? If not then get busy and purchase the Fluffer Nutter You Be You fabric and start brainstorming on how you will use it. Then on January 1, 2018 start creating your masterpiece.

  1. I love this idea. I confess that I needed to see the fabric choice before jumping in. I love it and yes, that title is worth everything. I’m in and would love to go order it now. Am I right to assume that we can use as much or as little of the challenge fabric as we want? Or do we need to include it somewhere in each of the blocks, if it’s a quilt? Thanks, Elana thatfabricfeeling.com and elanagoldberg5@gmail.com

    1. Awesome! We would love to have you join us. You are correct. You may use as much or as little of the fabric as you like. I hope you have a great time. I look forward to seeing your creation. 🙂

      1. Thanks Cindy. I have no idea what i will do, but something will come to me. I’m planning on ordering the fabric tomorrow.

  2. Great fabric, Cindy! I’m so excited about this! A lot of things will blend with that fabric! I found it in an Etsy shop called Dark Horse Quilts, small shop, but it had what I needed! I bought a yard, and I hope that’s enough for what I decide to do.

  3. Hi Cindy,
It’s here, it’s here!! Yes, of course I’m in. That is a goofy name for a fabric – I wonder how they chose it?! I’ll have to start thinking now that I know what the fabric is/looks like. ~smile~ Roseanne

      1. I ordered the fabric too – I had to restrain myself from getting others from the line. I don’t need more fabric . . . but it sure was tempting! ~smile~ Roseanne

      2. AWESOME! I know what you mean but I wasn’t as strong. There were a few other items that came home in the bag. 🙂 Do you want your website listed as a participant?

      3. Hi again,
Sure – that would be great. Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with. I need to write up a post and send some more folks your way – I’ll look for the QAL button to share. ~smile~ Roseanne

I love receiving comments from my readers!
