3 Days, 3 Quotes, Day 2
Laura Bruno Lilly, a follower of my blog, is familiar with my once a week series called Enough Said. This series has been featured for almost as long as this blog has been in existence. All of the posts filed under this category contain a simple, thought-provoking quote. As the category heading states, nothing more needs to be said.
Laura Bruno Lilly is participating in The 3 Day Quote Challenge. She has nominated me to join in. Thank you Laura for following my blog and for the nomination.
Here are the Rules for participation:
– Thank the person who nominated you
– Post a quote for three consecutive days (1 quote for each day)
– Share why this quote appeals to you so much
– Nominate 3 different bloggers for each day
Day 2 Quote
This sign hangs in my bedroom where I can see it everyday. I acquired it not long after a dear friend suddenly and very unexpectedly passed away. This person was far too young to leave this earth. Their untimely death scared me and left me with the desire to live each day as fully as possible. I keep it front and center to remind me that life is precious and that each day is a gift to be opened and enjoyed.
The Nominees
For the last part of this challenge I’m supposed to nominate three different people to participate. Rather than do that I will simply list a few of my fellow bloggers (in no special order) that continue to inspire me every day. If these individuals would like to jump in then I will be absolutely thrilled. If their schedules are filled with other activities I totally understand.

I so adore this quote!
I love your “Enough said” series. This is one of my particular favorite quoted and definitely words to live by. Thank you for sharing.
Thank You so much! I’m glad you like it. They certainly are. 😊
Hi Cindy,
I love this quote and especially love the woohoo, what a ride!
~smile~ Roseanne
😊
Life ending NOT with a ‘well preserved body’ I like that!
Ahem, add to the skidding:
lots of laugh wrinkles, smile lines, saggy bathing suit skin exposed regardless just cuz wanna still enjoy the feel of the ocean against my body, funky salt and pepper hair with more pepper in it, but still; scarred up legs from falling down during hikes….
Oh can you tell, I love this quote, Cindy!
Question: Is this a quilted wall hanging or a framed print and did you make this (the one in the photo?)
ps-so sorry to hear of your friend’s untimely passing – very hard.
I purchased the sign in one of the many shops I love to visit. I’m so glad you like the quote and can identify with it.
Thank you! It was a freak accident. I had visited with him just 10 days before at the funeral of my mother-in-law. Her funeral set off a series of awful events that devastated us for years. 😢
I love that quote and think I may make a wall hanging of it. I have similar quotes in my collection but do you have an attribution for this one?
No I don’t. I purchased the sign and there wasn’t one on there
I think that is a wonderful idea! Share it with me if you do. 😊❤️
Of course, there are a few other projects under way, but I’ll let you know!
Of course! 😁 How could there not be. ❤️
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” Hunter S. Thompson ~ That’s the original quote and the person who said it in The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, 1955-1967 It was adapted by the creator of Maxine to something close to what’s on this quote board above, only that one says martini, and has a few more words. There are several other versions, as well, but Thompson was the original. Now ya know. 😊
Yes, I’m a quote geek. 😊
Well I think that is awesome! 😊
Imagine…Hunter Thompson immortalized on a quilted quote plaque…too crazy!
👍
The sign is actually just resting on an old quilt that I have. Usually it’s hanging on the wall. The quilt was added for color and interest.
Aha…setting up the photo shoot – I get it!
❤️
Awesome! Thank you for your research! 👏
