Nine of Sixteen: Court House Friends 9, AP # 54

Nineth of Sixteen

We have been taking a look at my most recently completed art pieces. Last Thursday we saw number eight Today’s post features number nine.

Uninspiring?

If it were not for the added borders, this mini quilt would be nothing more than a tiny remnant. Who knows what it must have looked like in its original form. We will never know.

Saving Feature

This quilt has a very simple design. To spice up the appearance I added quilting with a variegated thread. The varying shades of intermittent color provide excitement by jumping out in unexpected ways.

The lines of quilting help to draw your eye into the tiny center.

I have to admit that, if it were not for the added quilting, this miniature art piece would probably go unnoticed. Thankfully the quilting has added the drama that it deserves.

  1. The variegated thread does add a little magic to the piece, and I like it very much. I have to tell you that as I sliced off extras on my flag blocks today, I was thinking about this series, and knowing you would make an art quiltlet with at least some of them! I was tempted, but then I restrained myself. =)

  2. Hi Cindy! Not only the thread is variegated but the fabric is as well. That pop of white-white along with the little design (looks like a feather?) really draw your eye there. The quilting does as well, of course. This is a fun one! Happy Tuesday! ~smile~ Roseanne
