Introducing BUGG

Welcome!

I have good news and I have bad news.  First the bad news.  Not too long ago I shared a short story and photo of a dearly loved family dog named Cassie.  I’m sad to report that Cassie died on Thursday, July 26, 2012.  We were all deeply moved by her passing.

Now the good news!  Cassie’s family has welcomed a new member.  Join me in giving a great BIG welcome to my new granddog BUGGBugg is a six-week old Chocolate Labrador.  Since Bugg is only a puppy she needs to learn to go potty outside.  I have been given the wonderful privilege of visiting Bugg once a day to help facilitate those visits.  Bugg and I have a grand old-time.  I especially love the kisses she slathers upon my body.  I look forward to watching her grow.

Our New Granddog BUGG

We hope Bugg has a long and happy life!

Only a Short Time Left

Last weekend we babysat our granddog Cassie.  Cassie belongs to our youngest daughter and her husband.  We always enjoy spending time with her.  Cassie fits into our little family and our environment like a glove.  She’s very easy to get along with and a joy to be around.  Earlier this year our daughter and son-in-law received devastating news.  Cassie has very few months to live.  She has an aggressive form of cancer.  This very unfortunate news broke our hearts.  To the average bystander Cassie appears just fine.  Only her family knows of her dilemma.  We cherish every moment we have with her.  My compassion for our furry friend is evidenced by this photo.

As you can see I have allowed her to lounge on my sectional sofa.  This is not something I would normally do.  Thanks go out to my daughter and son-in-law for allowing us this special time with Cassie.

UPDATE:  I am very sad to say Cassie died on Thursday, July 26, 2012.  She was a very sweet dog.  We miss her terribly.
