I Can’t Decide

Decisions, Decisions

I’ve been participating in A Lovely Year of Finishes since January.  To date I have declared and finished the following projects:

Ever since completing my Miranda Day Bag I’ve been pondering what to choose for my June challenge.  My To Do List is filled with suitable options as is my stash of projects to quilt.  With so many choices it’s been extremely difficult to decide.  I find myself flip-flopping from one item to another.  Just when I think I have made up my mind I come across another idea and that sends me into a tailspin.  The problem is I want to finish everything on my list but that’s just not humanly possible.  Obviously I will have to narrow down my options.

Here are a few of the projects I have pondered:

If you scroll over each of the photos you can see what their names are.  Aside from those projects one of the other candidates is the June Block Lotto over at the Madison Modern Quilt Guild.

I’ve Chosen

After weighing my options the one that jumps out at me the most is my daughter’s Picnic Blanket.

She designed and assembled it herself.  I believe it may have been way back in April that she delivered it to my home for quilting.  Since the picnic season is upon us I believe her Picnic Blanket is screaming the loudest.  To satisfy that small voice telling me to “get it done” I am electing the Picnic Blanket as my June project.

The Pineapple is Ready

At the beginning of April I declared my Pineapple Quilt as my target project to finish for Sew BitterSweet’s A Lovely Year of Finishes Challenge.  Left to do on the lovely table topper was the quilting and binding.  I am proud to announce that I have successfully achieved my goal.  Without further adieu let me introduce my expertly finished Pineapple Quilt . . .

I have linked my post with Sew BitterSweet’s blog.  If you slide on over to there you can observe the finished items submitted by the other A Lovely Year of Finishes participants.

I Really Like Pineapple

My Button

Since January I’ve been participating in Sew Bittersweet’s A Lovely Year of Finishes.  So far I have followed through with all of my commitments.  It’s been great getting projects crossed off my to-do-list. Gotta keep crossing things off my list so it doesn’t look so bad when I add more on.

The project I’m adding for April is a small quilt I made way back in the 1990’s.  It’s been neatly folded and patiently waiting on my unfinished projects list for far too long.  I couldn’t think of a more appropriate time to finish it than now.

When I originally made the quilt I had unfortunately not purchased fabric for the backing or binding.  Who knows why I didn’t.  I must have assumed the fabric would always be available.  Not too long ago I took it to Life’s A Stitch Quilt Shoppe to explore my options.  I was so very surprised and so pleased to discover one of the fabrics was still in print.  The color intensity was slightly different but I didn’t care.  I considered it a triumph to even be able to find the same pattern, let alone a color that closely matched.  How lucky is that?

So, it’s official!  I’m declaring my 1990’s Pineapple quilt my April project to finish.  The pattern is from the book Pineapple Passion by Nancy Smith & Lynda Milligan.
