The base of this original, one of a kind, art piece was created from a soft blue wool fabric. Added for interest were a deep red wool circle and a narrow strip of white cotton fabric printed with black dots. The blue wool has both hand and machine stitching. The hand stitching was applied with a thread matching that of the red circle. The pattern created by the red stitches form multiple arcs moving part way around the sphere. The red wool circle was also embellished with a simple ring of hand stitches accompanied by one French knot. The black polka dot fabric received special attention as well. Imitating the dot design of the fabric is a row of undulating French knots. These knots give your eye a path to move from one side of the fiber art piece to the other. The simple but creative fiber art piece was attached to an 8×10” stretched canvas frame. The frame was sealed with a paper backing and a sawtooth hanger was attached for hanging.
