The base of this original, one of a kind, art piece was fashioned from a wool plaid containing brown, gray and cream fibers. Added for interest was a rectangle of mocha colored brown wool. A small scrap of lace was placed on top of the brown wool. Rows of hand or machine stitching were applied to both the wool fabricsl. Along the left edge three French knots were incorporated for interest. The lace scrap was attached with a matching colored thread. Extending out from the lace is rows of stitching terminated by more French knots. I’ve named this item CENTIPEDE because the combination of the lace and the radiating stitches reminds me of a centipede. This simple but creative fiber art piece was attached to an 8×10” stretched canvas frame. The frame was sealed with a paper backing and a sawtooth hanger was attached for hanging.
