This item was one of my favorite pieces to create. A red wool base was selected for this original, one of a kind, art piece. Added were three scraps of fabric. The first is a heavy, white, woven material with black geometric shapes. On top of that is a gently fringed soft white cotton embellished with dotted triangles. The final scrap to be incorporated is a silky, soft, white and black fabric. The inspiration for this item’s name is the cleverly added black button printed with a white dragonfly. Rows of hand or machine stitching were applied to all but the uppermost fabric. To that I added randomly spaced French knots. This simple but creative fiber art piece was attached to an 8×10” stretched canvas frame. The frame was sealed with a paper backing and a sawtooth hanger was attached for hanging.
