Fiber art pieces do not always have to be complicated…sometimes simplicity is just as interesting. The base of this item, a woven plaid square of wool fabric, was adhered to a 8”x10” stretched canvas frame. On top of that I layered a simple grouping of fabric scraps…a strip of black cotton material and a teeny tiny triangle of blue. The fragments were attached with strategically placed hand stitching. To complete the composition I added a black running stitch to give the piece movement .
A paper barrier was added to the back of the frame to protect it from pests and dust. To aide in display I added a sawtooth hanger. Also present is silicone bumpers to help keep the frame level as well as encourage ventilation.
This wonderful specimen would make a lovely addition to your home.
