Digging through and harvesting items from my bins of fabric and embellishments is one of my favorite tasks to do. The process sets my imagination in motion and gives me the opportunity have some fun. This dandy little gem was pulled together using a square of green felt, two scraps of cotton…one a vibrant orange and the other a patterned gold. To give the felt a touch of class I used a matching thread to stitch a single row of running stitches outlining the outer border. Eight rustic x’s hold the orange rectangle in place. The warm gold was secured with three French knots. For interest I left a tail of golden colored thread dangling from the like-colored cotton. This yellow tail was the inspiration for naming my fiber art piece.
A paper barrier was added to the back of the frame to protect it from pests and dust. To aide in display I added a sawtooth hanger. Also present is silicone bumpers to help keep the frame level as well as encourage ventilation.
This wonderful specimen would make a lovely addition to your home.
