Wool is one of my favorite fibers to add to my small art pieces. A super soft teal wool was used for the base of this stylish specimen. Added for visual interest was a section of a hand-dyed dryer sheet (that’s right…an honest to goodness piece of a dryer sheet); an adorable two-tone purple, leopard print fabric; a lilac bead; and a classy teal bead. Decorative hand stitching was used to secure the layers together and add pizazz to the entire composition. Zoom in to see the detail. The leopard print fabric provided the inspiration for the art piece’s name.
The entire grouping was attached to an 8”x10” frame covered with white canvas. Added to the back of the frame is a paper barrier to protect it from pests and dust, a sawtooth hanger, silicone bumpers to help keep the frame level as well as aide in ventilation and an itemized label describing the art piece.
This wonderful specimen would make a lovely addition to your home.
