Part of the fun of making these small fiber art pieces is pulling together the fabrics and notions. Serving as a base for this unusual item is a bronze colored rectangle of wool. Attached on top is a reclaimed scrap of an old teal colored blouse. A carefully placed lace remnant is positioned on top of the teal fabric. Situated above all three items is a matching shiny teal button. Decorative hand stitching was used for both function and pizazz. Zoom in to see the detail of both the stitching and the fabrics. The coloring of the two fabrics provided the inspiration for the name of this art piece.
The entire grouping was attached to an 8”x10” frame covered with white canvas. Added to the back of the frame is a paper barrier to protect it from pests and dust, a sawtooth hanger, silicone bumpers to help keep the frame level as well as aide in ventilation and an itemized label describing the art piece.
This wonderful specimen, another one of my all-time favorites, would make a lovely addition to your home.
